PULMONARY FUNCTION TEST
Instruction and Preparation
Your doctor has requested you to have a pulmonary function test
PURPOSE: To detect the presence or absence of lung dysfunction suggested by history or physical signs and symptoms. To assess any changes in lung function over time; or following administration of / or change in therapy.
On the day of your pulmonary function test, the following guidelines are requested to assure accurate testing:
REFRAIN from caffeine the day of the test.
REFRAIN from smoking the day of the test.
RECOMMENDED times for withholding bronchodilator use prior to testing:
Spiriva, Anoro, Incruse, Stiolto, Tudorza 24 hours
Breo, Dulera, Brovava, Perforomist 24 hours
Striverdi, Anora 24 hours
Asmanex, Flovent, Foradil, Symbicort, Advair, Arcapta 12 hours
Atrovent, Combivent 6 hours
Albuterol (ProAir, Ventolin, Proventil, Xopenex. 4 – 6 hours
Alupent 4 hours
